Brown & Brown Grows Analytics Team; Adds Four New Teammates

ATLANTA, Aug. 17, 2022 – Brown & Brown is pleased to welcome Hamzeh Gol-Zaroudi as a senior CAT modeling analyst plus Scott Kaminski, Caleb Blodgett and Thomas Scott as analytics and research & development (R&D) actuaries.

Under the leadership of chief innovation and analytics officer Andrew Golub, the Brown & Brown analytics team continues to grow to better serve our customers through cutting-edge research. The addition of these new teammates will continue to fulfill Brown & Brown’s dedication to improving how we identify, quantify and finance risk. This group is working diligently to build new modeling tools, provide deeper quantitative insight into the unique risk profiles of Brown & Brown customers, and optimize how they finance risk.

Hamzeh Gol-Zaroudi works as a senior CAT modeling analyst on the team and is focused on property and energy team initiatives, specifically technical risk quantification research and exposure data strategy. Prior to joining Brown & Brown, Hamzeh worked in research and modeling after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Islamic Azad University, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Iran University of Science & Technology and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University. He is also a licensed structural engineer (SE), a licensed professional civil engineer (PE) and a certified event modeler (CEEM).

Scott Kaminski joins as a research actuary on the team and will focus on risk quantification R&D projects in cyber, D&O and non-CAT property. Before joining Brown & Brown, Scott worked in financial reporting, predictive modeling, reserving and commercial lines pricing on the carrier side, developing over 20 years of property and casualty actuarial experience throughout his extensive career. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Economics and Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS).

Caleb Blodgett works as a research actuary specializing in risk modeling for cyber liability. Before Brown & Brown, Caleb worked at an insurance carrier in various data science and actuarial roles, including pricing, analytics and predictive modeling. Caleb graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS).

Thomas Scott also works as a research actuary on the team, specializing in property and D&O risk modeling. Prior to joining Brown & Brown, he worked at an insurance carrier in a variety of actuarial and analytical roles. Thomas graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Cornell University and is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS).
