Brown & Brown Announces the Release of Cyber In-Site Platform

Brown & Brown is pleased to announce the release of its newest Cyber In-Site platform. Cyber In-Site combines an online application and sophisticated cyber risk modeling with risk assessment tools. Its design utilizes underwriting standards from insurance carriers and criteria from established oversight frameworks, including NYDFS, HIPPA and NIST. The platform provides customers with insight into how their unique business, network and control environment could impact the frequency and severity of a cyber event.

Cyber In-Site allows chief information security officers (CISOs), risk managers and financial executives to make well-informed decisions on investments in cyber security to reduce their risk profile, refine risk appetite and make more insightful choices on whether to transfer risk. Weighting the control environment to develop an overall insurability score and a customized economic impact value helps customers evaluate their overall risk and ultimately drives down costs.

Cyber In-Site combines information gathered from external attack scans and directly from an insured to enable strategic program design and tactical engagement with the insurance marketplace. The platform goes beyond benchmarking and loss averaging based on industry data, measuring the maturity environment of individual customers. The automated environment lets risk managers and IT Security professionals collaborate on critical controls, costs and risk tolerance, monitoring the control environment in real time after the insurance renewal date.

Britt Eilhardt, managing director, says the following: “Customers need an efficient way to gather information for cyber placements and identify strategies to help minimize the largest potential cyber losses and risks. Cyber In-Site expands to analytical and consulting services that align with a cyber brokerage. Based on the findings, we can design, market, implement and maintain the most efficient cyber insurance program based upon informed customer input.”

Enhanced features that map information between insurance applications and cyber compliance frameworks allow CISOs to better navigate cyber maturity and satisfy compliance requirements. The results provide concise output to increase effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders.
