Joel Axler, MD

Dr. Axler is a board-certified Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist. He has a wealth of experience addressing mental health and substance abuse issues that face employer groups and has a passion for helping employers develop innovative solutions to help improve behavioral health access and quality of care. Dr. Axler has experience building effective integrated physical-mental health care solutions and developing and deploying innovative strategies to help enhance member engagement and motivation to improve adherence with treatment, leading to better quality of life for employees and their families.

He is a board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist with more than 30 years of experience in academic, private practice and insurance settings. He is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He serves on several executive committees and
organizations, including the Georgia Psychiatric Physicians Association and the Georgia Council on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Ashley Diaz

Ashley Diaz serves as Brown & Brown’s Southeast Regional Population Health Consultant. She works with employers to develop strategic data-driven approaches to improve health outcomes, reduce costs and increase workforce productivity.

Ashley brings over 6 years of experience consulting in workforce health and productivity in the mid-market, working with employers across a variety of industries ranging from 100 to 10,000 employee groups.

Ashley is proficient in:

  • Analyzing employers’ cost and productivity drivers, and current programs and resources to identify areas of opportunity
  • Implementing innovative evidence-based solutions
  • Identifying barriers that prevent employees from thriving across all dimensions of well-being

Prior to joining the Brown & Brown team, Ashley spent 3 years in Human Resource Information System (HRIS) consulting and training.
